DIY : Collar Tips

Collar Tips are a fashion trend right now and I will show you my own DIY version below.

Materials:
1. Earrings (studded type)
2. Pliers
3. Chains

Steps:
1. Measure the chains against a collared shirt and create a "U" shape.
2. Use a file clip to mark where you want to cut the chains. The length of my chains measure to about 8 inches.
3. Use your pliers to remove the excess chains.
4. Insert each end of the chains through the back of the earrings.
Optional : You can use super glue to attach the chains to the back of the earrings, I didn't use it here since my earrings did not enough space to hold the glue.
5.-6. Attach the hooks onto the earrings and wear your DIY collar tips creation :)

DIY: Chain Bracelet

I've been seeing lots of DIY chain bracelets using leather cords and decided to make one too. I used an old bracelet that I never wore. It's one of those free gifts you receive for every minimum purchase receipt. I have no idea what the Di stands for but kinda looks like Dior to me! LOL.

There are only two materials needed, an old bracelet and leather cords

1-3. Since the chains of this bracelet are alternating, simply string one of the cords through the same chain. Blue cord strung into the chain facing sideways and keep going until you reach the end. Make sure you leave at least 3 inches of cord on both ends
4. String the other cord, orange cord, through the chain facing up, keep going until you reach the end. Make sure you leave at least 3 inches of cord on both ends
5. Make a knot using both cords (blue and orange) against both ends of the chain. One knot is enough but you can always double knot it if you feel it is not enough.
6. This part is optional, I wanted to keep the cords dangling off the wrist so I left about 2 inches and tied a knot on each cord.

when worn
My "Dior" LOL.
I think updating old items in your closet is a very practical thing to do! There is no need to keep buying new items and throwing the old ones out. The leather cords cost about P20 total which is about $0.50 !

How do you update your old accessories? :)

My Holy Week Getaway

I wanted to share my short Holy Week getaway from the city (Manila). I spent 2 nights and 3 days with nature and  company of friends. Our first stop was in San Pablo Laguna followed by Quezon Province and lastly Tagaytay.  I had trouble with the camera that I borrowed thus I was only able to take a few photos. This just means that I need to get myself a new camera SOON! Check out the photos below of the sceneries I was able to capture.  Nature is truly a magnificent work of God and is exceptionally breath-taking! I I hope you feel the sense of serene and tranquillity the same way I did.

Sampaguita Lake @ San Pablo, Laguna
A man fishing for food
A tiny fish caught by my friend,  Cots. The fisherman was kind enough to let her use his rod
Cafe Lago, the only cafe situated by the lake
Some kind of flower at the garden of Patis Tito
A dog greeting us at the entrance
A Parrot
Garden walkway at Patis Tito. I love photos of long winding roads/paths.
Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery, it was closed that day so we only able to take photos from the outside
A peek through the gate
Rafting at Lake Pandin, Laguna. You can avail the ride with or without food. We ordered food to help out the locals and it was really good. P180 pax for the ride and another P180 pax for food.

View from the middle of the lake, simply breath-taking!
At Kubli Springs, Quezon. You can only get here through the owner, Jay, who runs the Kinabuhayan Cafe where we had lunch that day.
Short trails through the streams
View from top. We had the option to jump off the cliff which was about 8-10 feet high. I did not jump but climbed down the rocks instead. I have a fear of heights plus I was not wearing swim attire that time. Some boys in our group took the plunge though, must have felt great because the sun was high, striking at about 34 degrees Celsius.

Even if this trip was short and spent nearby, it was nonetheless enjoyable, relaxing and literally a breath of fresh air from the city. Work plus the city are suffocating at times. Everyone needs to take a break once in a while to relax from the busy life. This is the best medicine to combat stress and worries. You can check out my friend, Cots' blog, for more details, she runs a photo and travel blog :) Now, back to the reality of life!

Where do you spend your short getaways from the city?
